Pumpkin's Story

Pumpkin’s world just got a little bigger. We recently moved him from the Quonset Hut into the house to help him experience a new environment—and true to his nature, he picked a quiet corner and stayed there. For dogs like Pumpkin, who’ve lived feral or survived hoarding situations, hiding isn’t unusual. It’s a form of safety, of control. And that’s okay. Around here, we’ve learned that patience wins every time.
We’re not pushing Pumpkin to do anything he’s not ready for. In fact, the more we “ignore” him, the more curious he gets. Every now and then, he peeks out to watch Lily or inch a little closer to the action. He’s not in a hurry—and neither are we. Watching a dog like Pumpkin slowly choose connection on his own terms? That’s where the real magic happens.
Bolt's Story

Bolt arrived at the shelter with a label that kept people away: “aggressive.” But when we met him, that label didn’t hold up. He didn’t lunge or growl. He wagged.
The truth showed up quickly. Bolt wasn’t aggressive—he was in pain. His paw appeared crushed, his ears were severely infected, and his body carried signs of long-term neglect. Even resting was difficult, as he tried again and again to find a position that didn’t hurt.
And still, he chose connection. He leaned in, stayed close, and trusted—despite everything he’d been through.
Now at Flip’s Farm, Bolt is safe and finally receiving the medical care, stability, and time he’s always needed. His recovery will take time, but for the first time, he’s no longer being overlooked.
Buzz's Story

Buzz was found wandering with Jessie on the Fourth of July, buried beneath what looked like a year of painful, severely matted fur.
The knots covered his body. His legs were wrapped in tight mats, a solid clump hung beneath his chin, and his tail had disappeared inside a hardened shell of fur.
And still, his personality came through.
Buzz approached Rocky for treats, bounced around, and showed everyone the goofy, social dog hiding underneath. When something hurt, he communicated—and when he felt safe, he leaned into the connection.
Removing his coat took a professional groomer nearly five careful hours. As the painful weight came off, Buzz’s face softened, his body relaxed, and his trust grew.
Now at Flip Farms, Buzz is safe and receiving the care, stability, and time he needs. There are still medical follow-ups, rehabilitation, and plenty to learn about him—but he is no longer carrying the weight of neglect alone.
Jessie's Story

Jessie was found wandering with Buzz on the Fourth of July, her face and body hidden beneath painful, severely matted fur.
Unlike her outgoing companion, Jessie was cautious. She stayed back, watched every movement, and wasn’t sure whether it was safe to come closer.
So Rocky didn’t rush her.
He sat down, spoke softly, and let Jessie decide what happened next. Treats created a small opening. Then she came closer, accepted a gentle touch, and eventually offered kisses.
Underneath the fear was a sweet young dog who wanted connection—she simply needed the choice to happen on her terms.
Now at Flip Farms, with Buzz nearby, Jessie is safe and beginning her rehabilitation. She still needs veterinary care, careful grooming, patience, and time to build confidence. Her journey may move slowly, but for the first time, she has people willing to move at her pace.
Lilly's Story

Lilly may have started life on shaky legs—literally—but she’s quickly become the heart of Flip’s Farm. Originally mistaken for a Swimmer’s Syndrome case, Lilly was later diagnosed with a rare skeletal condition that affects her mobility, along with hypothyroidism and a few missing vertebrae. Despite all this, she’s resilient, full of spirit, and determined to live life her way.
From the start, she impressed her doctors with her progress in therapy, adapting to a specialized routine that helps strengthen her body and support her long-term health. After months of rehab, Lilly officially became Flip’s Farm’s very first forever resident. Her condition requires lifelong care, and while she’s expected to enjoy several more good years, her health could decline rapidly when the time comes. That’s why we’re committed to giving her the best life—right here, surrounded by a team who knows her needs and celebrates her wins, no matter how small.
Lilly has taught us that quality of life isn’t about running the fastest—it’s about moving forward at your own pace, surrounded by people who love you exactly as you are.

Today, Flip’s legacy continues through every bag of coffee. Your purchase helps support the rescue, rehabilitation and care of shelter dogs who deserve a second chance.
Great coffee. Real impact. One cup at a time.
